NEST CASA BAL HARBOUR AGLOW WITH SAINT-LOUIS CRYSTAL LIGHTING

NEST CASA at Bal Harbour is showcasing an exceptional collection of Saint-Louis crystal lighting by three female designers Ionna Vautrin, Paola Navone, and Kiki Van Eijk, curated exclusively for NEST.

Ionna Vautrin’s collection, Saule (Willow), coils and twists solid crystal rods until they knot themselves into bouquets of roots infused with new life.  Paolo Navone channeled her obsessions, passions and signature style into her Hulotte (Owls) collection using polka dots, crosses, the color blue and the gentle undulations that characterize flowing waters.

In the Matrice collection, the stirrings of an intense, carnivalesque idea was first felt in the huge supply of moulds created by Kiki van Eijk. Opening it up by hand liberates the light inside, softened by a Japanese paper screen.

Unrivalled, dense, clear, sonorous and luminous, Saint-Louis crystal vibrates with all the talent inherited from history and extraordinary creative fantasy inspired by current trends. Today, the historic French cristallerie signs every day crystal pieces created by master glassmakers and glasscutters among Les Meilleurs Ouvriers de France.

“We are honored to have these pieces exclusively at our new Bal Harbour shop. They must be seen to see the unique expertise, enriched from generation to generation, that Saint Louis’ master craftsmen create, paired with the vision of these astounding designers,” says Sara Colombo, founder of NEST CASA — the only place in the Southeast to display this exclusive lighting event.

Bal Harbour Shops and NEST CASA are a perfect fit. Since the emporium for gifts opened in October, NEST CASA’s Bal Harbour showroom has been a resounding success and has already become a must visit for new and returning customers.

NEST CASA has developed a reputation for being the quintessential purveyor of fine gifts and accessories. This is the place where the emphasis is on exclusive and hand-selected gifts for all occasions.

In addition to Saint Louis crystal, NEST CASA’s Bal Harbour Shops location has exclusive lines and new product offerings not seen in the area before including Hermés China, and a selection of Made in Murano, Italy, glassware, and signature items that have been selected specifically for the location.

The Saint Louis lighting collection will be on display at NEST CAST Bal Harbour Shops through April 29th.

SPOTLIGHT ON NEST DESIGNERS (Pinto Paris)

NEST is honored to bring to our clients and the design industry some of the most exciting designers and their pieces that have chosen NEST as an exclusive showroom. With our SPOTLIGHT ON NEST DESIGNERS SERIES, we’ll go behind the scenes of some of the legendary designers and their works that command center stage at NEST’s Miami Design District Showroom. Our first entry spotlights the exquisite PINTO PARIS.

Reserved for only a select few design showrooms in the world, PINTO PARIS is NEST’s most exclusive collection. NEST is the only showroom currently that showcases and distributes PINTO PARIS in the U.S.

When you acquire a PINTO PARIS piece from NEST, you’ve attained an instant heirloom. The moment it leaves NEST’s showroom and takes its rightful place in your home, PINTO PARIS is beauty on display. With its timeless design, a room can change, but a PINTO PARIS piece remains a constant.

Born from the inspiration of legendary designer Alberto Pinto, the handmade collection of furniture pieces and lighting are each works of art, with most pieces numbered or created in a limited edition.

Pinto, a celebrated designer for four decades before he passed away last year at the age of 69 in his beloved Paris, was known for his highly creative use of color and texture. Alberto Pinto’s insatiable quest for perfection and for refinement consistently led him on a quest to discover the best international artisans. This is what distinguishes the excellence of PINTO PARIS.

Sofas, armchairs, chairs, dining room tables, pedestal tables, coffee tables, nest tables, end tables, consoles, lamps and accessories, bring together high quality materials, such as bronze and other fine metals, lacquer, parchment, leathers, and the finest woods.

ACCESSORIES GET TOP FLOOR BILLING

The celebration of our showroom in the Miami Design District continues as we announce the grand opening of our second floor accessories loft. And, the new space now makes NEST Design District a one-stop-shop for designer needs.

Along the driveway and up a hidden staircase the second story locale, above what’s already an eclectic showroom, brings our evolution almost full circle. It’s 800-square-feet of what NEST has become known for — beautifully sourced and selected European accessories that were so sought after at our previous Lincoln Road showroom.

What makes our Design District location such a great match for interior designers is that everything is now brought together with the addition of the accessories space to create a project from floor to ceiling with NEST [http://www.nestcasa.com] — from lighting to furniture to accessories that complete a room.

The second-floor space invites careful selection and purposeful perusing. It has a personal touch for the interior designer to spend time selecting that perfect piece, or pieces of course, that are sure to be stand outs. The private, exclusive setting adds that little extra touch, too, for designers who want their clients to join them in selecting accessories that suit their personalities and hand-crafted European accessories that they would want to make personal in their own surroundings — pieces that suit the personality of the home.

Of course, everyone is welcome, but designers, this second-floor space is the place to top off your projects and to create rooms that are finished to perfection.

NEST Evolves with Second Showroom in Miami Design District.

As the Miami Design District continues to evolve, so does NEST, which is why we’ve chosen the Design District to house our second NEST showroom.

The 2,400-square-foot space (http://www.nestcasa.com/showrooms) in the heart of the, in the heart of the Design District at 120 N.E. 39th Street, keeps intact the same mission and foundation that has made NEST on Lincoln Road the source for one-of-a-kind exclusive home furnishings. The attention has always been is on inventory that is personally selected, sourced from the most creative and talented European craftsman, with quality that is unsurpassed.

The modern showroom takes a workspace approach to interior design and although it is open to both consumers and those in the industry, there are special areas – both for display and for selection – to accommodate those in the interior design trade. Designers and their clients will find a comfort level here to collaborate, create and select in a workspace atmosphere that allows for a broader showcase of NEST’s specially selected pieces, especially in home furnishings, lighting and standalone accessories.

This is an environment that has been creatively designed and specially constructed to showcase NEST products, especially brands that can only be found in the United States and are exclusive to NEST such as the specialties of Arca, Pinto Paris and Riviere, to name a few.

As with all NEST’s fine European furnishings and accessories, our personal association with artisans allows for collaboration on the creation of styles and an even greater selection of NEST’s signature organic materials.

While this second project has been ambitious, the fruits of our labor have already begun to flourish and I couldn’t be more proud that NEST is part of this dynamic and energetic neighborhood.

I am so excited to share NEST’s second home with old friends and new. Please accept my personal invitation to stop in and see us. Feel free to look around and stay awhile, browse and buy. Be part of the evolution.

October Missoni Home Sale at NEST Allows Room to Roam!

Fall is a great time to celebrate color and who better to indulge our love for color than Missoni. October is Missoni month at NEST (Miami Beach Showroom) with our Missoni Home Annual Sale where you can save up to 15 percent off on all Missoni Home (http://www.nestcasa.com/textiles/missoni-home.html) products during the entire month of October.

Here’s what NEST has in store. Missoni’s kaleidoscope of fabrics adorns poufs, pillows and throws, which make a remarkable statement and splash of color in any room of your home.

What I love about Missoni is what designer Rosita Missoni calls “the language of the collection.” Each individual piece is unmistakable, yet all fit together with color and form. Materials and patterns become part of the whole. Geometrical shapes and lines between exuberant motifs co-exist with other patterns.

This is why there’s no rule in pairing Missoni either with your current collection, or mixing and matching Missoni’s designs together – colorful stripes easily blend with bright florals. The Missoni sensibility is creating your own style and doing whatever works for you.

In addition to the bursts of color that are unmistakably Missoni, there is also the richness of the fine Italian fabric. Missoni’s poufs, which are ideal as an occasional piece of furniture, while soft, are also durable. Cushions provide comfort, yet are of the finest quality, and throws, with their soft woven finishes, are made from 100 percent wool and beautifully, yet durably, crafted.

October is the month to experiment with Missoni color and with the Missoni Home Annual Sale at NEST, there’s room to roam.

New Lighting Leads the Way At NEST!

In July, I wrote about the importance of lighting and how the addition of a table, floor or desk lamp, chandelier or sconce, to a room not only makes all the difference in regards to illumination, but as another design element of décor.

With winter just around the corner and darkness setting in quicker, NEST (http://www.nestcasa.com/lighting.html) has new additions to its lighting collections that will allow your décor dreams to take flight.

MODERN LIVING: NEST selects lighting from European craftsmen with lamps, chandeliers and sconces featuring contemporary lines that stand out with eclectic universal design. The lines get their unique qualities from rare materials of horn, Plexiglas, crystal, wood, natural skins and leathers and are integrated with modern finishes such as nickel and brass. Different textures such as weave also add to the unique styling.

TROPICAL LIVING:  Table and floor lamps made of natural materials like bamboo and shades made of straw that create visual light patterns bathe a room in an island ambience that is perfect for beachside abodes or oceanfront condominiums.

A BIT OF THE CLASSICS: NEST has a beautiful selection of lamps with hand-blown glass bases, sculptural style bases, and those that are crafted to appear antique in style that lend themselves to a room with an overall traditional tone. However, that doesn’t mean that lamps infused with a classical influence can’t fit into any décor.

One of the most satisfying things for me about NEST is my constant desire to add to our collections.  Furthermore, lighting is one of the most interesting of all to source as its purpose is two-fold, which is to provide utility but also to enhance and complement other pieces in a room. NEST gives a great deal of attention to finely crafted European designed pieces and our selections showcase the soul of the handicraft.

Lighting Can Add Accent to Any Home’s Décor.

As much as we depend on lighting in our homes, usually selecting the right illumination for our homes gets the short shrift.

When I select the lighting that is featured in store at Nest and on www.nestcasa.com, I take into account a number of things. Of course, functionality is important. Will the lamp light a room properly? What kind of shade suits this lamp best? And what is the primary purpose of the piece, is it to illuminate or to accent? Floor and table lamps, plus sconces and chandeliers in various sizes, shapes and styles at NEST are selected for their artistic value, too, as well as their ability to fill a room with a pleasant, yet practical glow. Artisan crafted works made of crystal, horn and hand-blown glass are selected to provide lighting that is beautiful and radiant.

As a rule, most rooms should have three types of lighting — general lighting, task lighting, and accent lighting.

Accent lighting is usually where the style comes in. In addition to the essential purpose of lighting – to illuminate a room – lighting can also do much to enhance a room’s appearance. Accent lamps are definitely dual function. Many accent lamps do not have to serve as the main source of lighting in a room and can be used in tandem with natural light to create just the right glow. Accent lighting sets the mood.

NEST has an array of exclusive hand-crafted decorative lamps that help to draw focus to a particular piece of furniture in a room, acting as an accent to a console or side table, or as a guiding light for overnight guests searching for the bathroom.

Accent lamps can add color to a room. Bold base shapes and complementing lamp shades can easily brighten up a room that needs a boost.

However, one of the biggest design faux pas is not paying attention to scale or shape. There are times when a square lamp can look interesting on a round table, or an oversized lamp is suitable for a smaller table, but it’s always best to make these thoughtful choices.

When it comes to selecting floor lamps, obviously size is important, too. A too-tall or too-short lamp can look out of place. Where you will place the lamp should also be considered before buying a floor lamp as many times floor lamps should be used as task lamps by a couch or other reading area, and are perfect for brightening up corners of a room. NEST has a variety of floor lamps in different heights and styles.

The right lighting can make a difference, and lighting from NEST can take any room to the next level.

Tastemakers, Trendsetters Share Shop My Style Stories.

I often have people say to me, “If I could have just one thing from NEST, it would be (fill in the blank).” Which got me thinking: What if Tastemakers from around the globe, from Miami to Milan, were able to share their NEST style and tell us what pieces they crave? And how these pieces eventually become integrated into their own personal landscape?

I know that when I select each piece that will become part of the NEST collection, I create my own story around it. I also know that when a desk, box, chair, stool, throw, candle, ashtray, or whatever the item may be leaves NEST and becomes part of someone else’s environment, the story then changes. This is what it means to create Personal Style and that’s what I believe makes NEST unique.

We’ve premiered Shop My Style on www.nestcasa.com with this idea in mind. It’s the perfect place for us to have Tastemakers and Trendsetters share their personal stories about the pieces that “speak” to them. I believe you’ll enjoy Shop My Style; it has the same impromptu feel of the lively conversations I’ve been privy to.

In our new series, Shop My Style, local, national and international tastemakers share what it takes to tickle their fancy and ignite their world when it comes to décor, interiors, and beautiful objects. Here’s a glimpse; for more, go to www.nestcasa.com/shop-my-style/

The Silver Stool – “I am in love with this silver stool; it’s practical art. I want a few of them, in various sizes, to place throughout the house. It’s remarkable how pieces like these—which are so simple —can add so much texture and dimension to a room. . . Suzy Buckley, Editor In Chief, Ocean Drive Magazine.

Macassar Jewelry Box — “I would take the dividers out of this absolutely beautiful box and use it to store my journals (the lock makes it all the more sexy, as I know no one will be sneaking a peek)!” — Saxon Henry, co-founder/partner, Adroyt

Stay tuned to www.nestcasa.com/shop-my-style/ for more Influencers who’ll share their personal NEST style stories.
